Are You Ready To Get Your Smile Back?

Tyler dentist helping your smile againOur smiles can bring obvious reactions from those who we come into contact with.  If our smiles are less than perfect, it can cause us to be self-conscious and even effect our self-esteem.  That’s why it is important for us to maintain and healthy and strong smile.

Here at Dr. Rick Coker’s Smile Studio, we have many years of experience in helping people have the smile of their dreams.  People come from all over East Texas to our office because they know we are going to help them look their best and feel good about themselves.  We look at dentistry like fine art.  Your teeth are the canvas we work on and everything we do is to help you have the most beautiful and healthiest smile possible.

What Are My Treatment Options For Crooked Teeth?

Many people have crooked teeth and it is a real source of embarrassment to them.  Most don’t like having crooked teeth but have learned to live with it.

Crooked teeth can cause several problems that most people are not aware of.  These include gum disease, cracking, chipping, trouble chewing food and more.  Each of these if left untreated can cost you more time and expense down the road.

In our office, we can correct crooked teeth a couple of ways.  One is using 6 month smiles.  With this treatment we apply clear brackets and tooth colored wires that are hardly visible at all.  We only straighten the teeth you see when you smile and it typically only takes 6 months.

The other treatment option is to use dental veneers.  These are thin pieces of porcelain that are applied to the tooth once it is prepped to receive them.  We can work with your teeth to make them look straight and beautiful.

If you have crooked teeth, we can help.  Call us today for a consultation.

I Have Swollen And Bleeding Gums. What Should I Do?

Bleeding gums should never be ignored as it can be a sign of gum disease.  This often starts out as gingivitis which most of us have heard of.  The gum tissue becomes soft and inflamed and many times our teeth can become sensitive.

Gum disease has also been linked to heart attack, stroke and other serious illnesses. Modern medicine has discovered the bacteria in your mouth can make its way to your heart.  This is something we should not overlook or consider unimportant.

Diagnosing gum disease has gotten easier with the Phase Contrast Microscope.  We can take a culture of the plaque under your gums and then looking to see if there are any harmful bacteria.  This can give us a more accurate diagnosis and help us to help you have better oral health.

If you live in the Tyler or East Texas region and you have experienced bleeding gums, then give us a call to set up an exam.  Prevention is key in helping you have the best oral health.

I Have Sleep Apnea But Cannot Wear The CPAP. Are There Other Options?

Sleep apnea is a terrible condition and the CPAP has been the gold standard of treatment for many years.  However, a large portion of the population that suffers with sleep apnea go untreated due to the fact they cannot wear the CPAP for one reason or another.

Now there is a really wonderful solution for those suffering with sleep apnea called “Oral Appliance Therapy.”  This is a custom made device that fits comfortably in your mouth.  It advances your lower jaw forward slightly opening your airway allowing you to breathe.  This device has literally saved thousands of lives.

If you have sleep apnea or think you do, then give us a call today about what steps you need to take to get your rest and your life back.  903-581-1777

Can You Help My Yellow Teeth?

The short answer is “YES.”  Stained or discolored teeth can many times be made several shades whiter using the new treatment options available to us.  This means you can have a brighter and whiter smile in shorter periods of time also.

You can also achieve a whiter smile with veneers or crowns.  Sometimes teeth are stained or discolored to the point that whitening may not be the best option.  Porcelain veneers can then be used to help you achieve that whiter smile.

If we can help you get the smile of your dreams, then give us a call today for help and we will be glad to answer any questions you may have about whitening.

“My teeth were in such bad shape that a colleague pulled me aside one day and told me that I needed to get my teeth fixed and I needed to go to Dr. Coker. I had known for years that my teeth weren’t great, but guess I never thought about getting them fixed. I’m so glad I did. What a difference it made and now I really feel confident whenever I smile.”

“I have no pictures of me as a child with my teeth showing. Over the years things seemed to get worse. My teeth had darkened and I had worn down my bottom teeth. As a University professor, I was extremely self conscious about my smile. My smile makeover has made an amazing change!”
